Alfred Weston died from wounds on 2nd February, 1915, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 1st Royal Fusiliers battalion was part of 17 Brigade, 6th Division that had arrived in France in September, 1914, and had been involved in the fighting on the Western Front since that date including the First Battle of Ypres.
